Your Work Matters

As a Project Manager New Stores, you are the driving force behind the successful execution of new store openings, remodels, and store resets. Your ability to coordinate timelines, budgets, merchandising standards, and cross-functional teams helps ensure every project is delivered on time, on budget, and ready to serve customers. The work you do directly supports Floor & Decor’s continued growth and creates exceptional in-store experiences across the country.

Your Day Consists Of

Merchandising

  • Ensuring merchandising standards are followed according to the Visual Standards Guide across assigned projects.
  • Maintaining POP signage, price signs, and visual merchandising execution in alignment with established standards.
  • Supporting store space planning from Block Plan through Steel Set to help ensure safety and operational requirements are met.
  • Adjusting signing and racking layouts in the field to address site-specific conditions and project needs.

Capital Projects

  • Partnering in the CPAR process alongside the Project Manager, Budget Planning.
  • Creating executable rollout timelines for New Stores, Remodels, Resets, Design Center Updates, and other initiatives by collaborating across multiple departments and driving milestone completion.

Operations

  • Managing project calendars in partnership with the Project Manager New Stores and the Project Manager Existing Stores.
  • Coordinating Project Specialist staffing schedules and communicating resource needs and concerns to the Senior Director.
  • Creating and maintaining Project Request Forms to ensure due diligence is completed prior to project approval.

Finance/Accounting

  • Forecasting project requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances to support financial objectives.
  • Partnering with the Project Manager, Budget Planning to ensure accurate invoice coding and budget compliance across assigned projects.
  • Communicating budget performance and actual spend results to the Project Manager, Budget Planning and Senior Director, New Stores and Visual Merchandising.

Administration

  • Providing project updates and recaps to key stakeholders and department partners on current and upcoming initiatives.
  • Responding to emails and calls within 24 hours.
  • Documenting project walks, meetings, and key updates to ensure alignment and timely follow-up.
  • Tracking and submitting expenses accurately, on time, and in accordance with SOP guidelines.
  • Developing executable project timelines and communicating progress, risks, and milestones to the Senior Director, New Stores & Visual Merchandising.

You’ll Be Successful With

  • Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education).
  • Three years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
  • Experience working in a retail advertising or ad agency on creative projects preferred.
  • Two or more years of project management software experience.
  • Proven problem-solving and team-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exempt-level experience involving various project management responsibilities.
  • Experience in project management and budgeting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)

  • This position is salaried exempt, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week
  • Up to 75% travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.  The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
