In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Emerging Technologies - Oral Finished Products facility in Durham, NC is a 194,000 square foot tableting and packaging facility that supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. The Position

Lead the technical analysis, process development/improvements & quality topics. Work with other members of the departmental leadership team to ensure systems are in place to drive process quality & area improvements, complete quality systems responses, ensure audit readiness & share ideas & solutions with internal/external departments & sites.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for investigations involving departmental discrepancies: Deviations, Internal & Customer complaints, Audits & Failure investigations
• Lead & coach departmental personnel, specialists & others in problem solving for process & quality issues
• Perform analysis to provide data to support leadership in developing systems to improve processes & prevent recurrence of problems
• Evaluate results of process confirmations of standards for opportunities to leverage & share ideas for improvements site/division/company wide
• Track & assess effectiveness of corrective / preventative actions from audits, inspections & investigations
• Closely interact with all areas to improve the flow of information & products
• Develop new SOPs as required
• Support Global OFP sites with significant investigations & issues, to include on-site support
• Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
• Other accountabilities, as required

 

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site. May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle based on the role.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education & industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• May consider an Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited university with seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical or related (regulated) environment    
• May consider a High School Diploma or GED with nine (9) years of manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical or related (regulated) environment
• Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical or
