About the Role
The medical Managing Editor oversees systems and processes for submissions and peer review. Ensuring submissions and publications adhere to editorial policies. Working with the Editorial office team, maintaining efficient and Ethical peer review process. Answering queries and serving as a key liaison for all partners. Including the Editorial Board, Senior Science Editor and Publisher supporting the development of content strategy.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing editorial office workflow and performance, providing guidance to manage complex manuscripts.
- Managing manuscript intake and proactively enhance editorial processes and policies.
- Addressing author queries related to publishing ethics and escalate problematic papers.
- Offering support to the editorial team, providing guidance on policy, ethics, and editorial decisions.
- Assisting in building and maintaining the editorial board and prepare Table of Contents.
- Keeping current with industry developments to support the strategic development of the journal.
- Preparing reports, coordinate editorial board meetings, and serve as the main contact for authors and reviewers.
Requirements
- Have prior editorial/publishing experience.
- Experience as an Editorial Manager, or proven track record in similar editorial roles.
- Display exceptional written and communication skills.
- Have a keen attention to detail.
- Able to understand the evolving world of open access and copyright issues.
