Description:
Medical Records Specialist (Physician Order Specialist) needed for Mercy Home Health in Springfield, PA.
This hybrid position is responsible and accountable for the processing of all regulated billing documentation meeting HCFA/MCC/JCAHO regulations and guidelines. Physician Order Specialist is responsible for the delivery and retrieval of physician orders and certifications in need of signature. The Physician Order Specialist acts as a liaison between the physician’s office and the agency to ensure the timely return of compliant physician’s documentation; and executes a strategy for ensuring meeting this objective. The Physician Order Specialist will also be responsible for communicating physician practice preferences and report any concerns regarding orders and certification oversight back to the Manager of Clerical Operations.
Requirements include:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Health care experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Displays optimal critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare rules and regulations preferred
- Working knowledge of managed care environment preferred
- Experience multi-tasking on multiple computer systems..
- Must have valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work site.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate a commitment to the mission and Organizational Code of Ethics, and adhere to the Compliance Program.
