The Student Affairs Facilities Department manages the daily operations and emergency responses for a wide range of facilities. This includes Residential Life buildings, The Commons (the student union), the Center for Wellbeing, and several other key spaces like the University Center's 3rd floor, the Fine Arts Recital Hall, and OCA Mocha. They collaborate with UMBC Facilities Management (FM) to provide oversight for short- and long-term facility upgrades, maintenance, and renovation projects.
Position Overview:The Director will supervise and provides leadership for the daily activities and long-term planning in the areas of facility maintenance and building operations and works directly with UMBC’s central Facilities Management department.

Responsibilities: The Director provides oversight for the daily operations and emergency response for residential facilities, The Commons, Center for Wellbeing, University Center, Fine Arts Recital Hall, OCA Mocha, and other designated student affairs facilities. They coordinate the logistics of opening and closing of residential communities and the transition of residential facilities from academic year to summer conferences and renovation projects. Under their direct supervision are three full-time staff, with indirect supervision over approximately 13 full-time staff. Responsibilities include representing Student Affairs at University events, serving as a consultant to the Assistant Vice President for Administration & Auxiliary Services for all facilities-related matters, and belonging to the Student Affairs Leadership Team (SALT). This position also initiates and leads follow-up of Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) self-assessments and reviews related to functional areas including Facilities Management, College Unions, and Campus Information and Visitor Services. Required Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree
- Five years of progressive responsibility in personnel and budget management
- Strong knowledge of facility operations and maintenance, with 8 years of experience in facilities, operations, construction, or maintenance
- Master’s degree in public administration, business management, facilities operations, or related field.

Salary: $126,000 to $142,000 depending on qualifi
