Registered Specials Procedures Tech

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Special Procedures Tech to work along side our EKG Department. 

 

The incumbent will accurately and efficiently perform, record, and report cardiac stress tests and echocardiographic studies to aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease. This reflects the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified, and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent to the position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Junior College/Technical School, with classes in biological science, human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, routine EKG testing required. 
• AHA BLS required. 
• Registered in Adult Echocardiography required. 
• Registered in Pediatric Echocardiography preferred. 
• Previous position-related experience required, The kind of position-related experience includes:

  • Skills and competencies for providing extensive non-invasive cardiac studies as well as assisting the physician with invasive cardiac  

      studies

    • Proficient in performing and/or assisting the physician in the following special procedures:
    • Echocardiogram (2D, M-Mode, Doppler, Doppler color-flow for neonate, pediatric, and adult)
    • Stress Echocardiogram
    • Treadmill
    • Electrocardiogram
    • Transesophageal echocardiogram            
    • Typing
    • Windows proficiency and other computer skills.
    • Organizational skills
    • Adaptable to changeable working circumstances, while maintaining a caring and patient manner.
