Purpose

Serve on the Texas McCombs Master of Science Programs Office's Admissions team (MSPO) Counsel prospective students through the admissions process and collaborate with other units to ensure a smooth student life-cycle transition. Utilize data to inform recruiting, admissions, and yield strategy. Responsibilities

Manage and evaluate admissions outcomes from applicant to admitted students

  • Develop and implement best practices to monitor progress and yield outcomes with the goal of filling assigned programs to the targeted capacity.
  • Assist in the development of admissions tracking metrics and use those to inform recruiting, admissions, and yield strategy (strategic).
  • Timely and accurate input of key admissions data on a regular basis (tactical).
  • Implement a coordinated admissions process.
  • Work with the Director of Admissions in the development of a merit and need-based financial aid strategy and oversee the disbursement of scholarship funds for the assigned MS Program.

Application Evaluation

  • Review applications, schedule and conduct interviews when applicable, and provide decision recommendations
  • Coordinate with the admissions committee. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a part-time application reader (if needed).
  • Work directly with the Faculty Program Director when specialized expertise is required to make admissions decisions

Counsel prospective students through the admissions process

  • Assess the needs and communicate effectively with prospective students through email, phone, and virtual/in-person meetings.
  • Actively participate in encouraging qualified applicants to complete the application process

Collaborate with other teams

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on recruitment and admissions strategy
  • Collaborate with student affairs team to ensure smooth student life-cycle transitions from prospective to applicant and from applicant to enrolled.
  • Collaborate with events coordinator to plan and participate in recruiting and yield events.
  • Collaborate with Career Management Team to help yield admitted students.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of admissions-related experience.
  • Experience conducting presentations and assisting students.
  • Admissions experience in higher education, secondary education, or other applicable experience.
  • Experience processing a high volume of applications in a short admissions cycle.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than the required years’ experience.

  • Experience with CRM management, preferably Salesforce.
  • Experience in higher education admissions.
  • Experience recruiting or managing high-volume, broad, and competitive applicant pools.

Salary Range

$55,000 + depending on qualificat
