About the role

Do you want to work on the intersection of artificial intelligence, local business, a data platform, a consumer ecosystem and advertising? Do you want to innovate on how users find local places & services and scale that to different surfaces with AI infused experiences? Then this role is for you, in the Bing Maps & Local team, as we make Microsoft Bing the most AI centric search offering.   This is a unique role that lets you innovate and evolve the consumer search space, the SMB space along with the advertising space. 

 

We are looking for a Principal Group Product Manager – Bing Local with people management experience. In this role, you will own a broad product charter that defines what and where the future of Bing Maps & Local resides, that keeps pace with AI innovation and with how the search and advertising space is evolving. You will look at end to end customer experience across different across a variety of surfaces and interaction models for consumers, SMBs/advertisers. This is a manager of managers role where you will lead a team of product managers. In this role you also own very important partnerships across Microsoft, as we work on an ever-evolving AI platform and a growing advertising and search platform and have ample opportunities to work closely with customers, partners, SMBs, data partners, and other stakeholders to strategize and enable new experiences

  • Leading a team, both direct and indirect, of product managers who will create and drive execution of a multi-year vision, strategy and execution plan.
  • Managing cross-team partnerships and relationships with engineering, design, research, and data science to establish a shared strategic framework, technical vision, plans, and roadmap.  
  • Partnering with cross-company product and engineering leaders to ensure successful delivery of the product roadmap.     
  • Engaging with leaders across the company to ensure executive sponsorship and manage escalations – this opportunity is high impact and comes with division wide visibility.  
  • Building and growing a team that obsesses over the customer, is data driven, owns the end-to-end experience, and delivers with agility and quality.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years people management experience in leading large and diverse product teams across multiple domains, with a track record of delivering business outcomes.  

  • 4+ years of demonstrated leadership skills in leading senior teams with or without positional authority.  
  • 2+ years of experience in managing business profit & loss and/or contracts, and/or customer operations and/or product operations.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years people management experience.

 

Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per y
