The Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of Epic OpTime in outpatient procedural areas. This role focuses on integrating clinical workflows, machine integration (e.g., anesthesia systems), device connectivity through platforms like Capsule Neuron, and vital sign integration. The analyst ensures seamless operations and enhances the efficiency of surgical and procedural workflows while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary resource for Epic OpTime application support, including design, build, testing, and optimization for outpatient procedural areas.
- Collaborate with clinicians, anesthesiologists, and operational leaders to gather requirements and align system configuration with clinical workflows.
- Support machine and device integrations, including anesthesia systems, vital sign monitors, and connectivity via Capsule Neuron or similar device gateway platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, integration, and end-user workflows.
- Oversee system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in collaboration with IT and vendor teams.
- Monitor system interfaces and ensure accurate data transmission between vital sign devices, Epic OpTime, and other integrated systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and workflow diagrams.
- Train and provide ongoing support for end-users in procedural areas.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, and maintain security standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Certification in Epic OpTime or ability to achieve certification within the designated timeframe.
- Experience with device integration platforms, such as Capsule Neuron or similar device gateways.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, including HIPAA and data security best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of outpatient procedural workflows, including machine integration (e.g., anesthesia systems) and vital sign monitoring devices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with clinical and technical teams.
Preferred:
- Certification in Epic Ambulatory.
- Experience implementing and supporting Epic OpTime in an outpatient or procedural setting.
- Experience with outpatient billing workflows.
- Experience with device integration technologies and managing interfaces.
- Familiarity with Epic Bridges or other interface engines.
- Understanding of procedural and surgical equipment workflows.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $95,888.00 to $143,811.20 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
