Job Description
The Assembler Level B will perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations. This role requires adhering to safety and compliance standards, utilizing a variety of tools, and following detailed technical instructions.
- Perform assembly operations on aircraft structural and mechanical parts, including the installation of components and subassemblies.
- Read and interpret technical work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and specifications to execute assembly tasks accurately.
- Use power tools, pneumatic tools, and hand tools for tasks such as drilling, reaming, filling, installing fasteners, shimming, and measuring.
- Operate high-impact vibratory tools (such as bucking/riveting) to assemble components.
- Perform precision measuring and accurately document data.
- Use software applications (email, Microsoft Suite, internet navigation) and specialized computer applications to navigate and complete work tasks.
- Handle hazardous chemicals safely, following all required safety procedures.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, etc.).
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and a sense of urgency in completing assigned tasks.
- Adhere to high safety and regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in aerospace or manufacturing, utilizing detailed work instructions and reading technical drawings or specifications.
- Experience with aircraft structural parts fabrication, assembly processes, and procedures.
- Proficiency in using conventional lathe, milling, precision measuring tools, and power, pneumatic, and hand tools.
- Ability to work with high hazard chemicals and safely operate equipment.
- Ability to lift/carry 10-35 pounds as needed.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, work ethic, and urgency to complete tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, reaching overhead, crouching, and kneeling.
- Ability to work in physically demanding positions (climbing, crawling, twisting, balancing).
- Ability to work around high noise levels and hazardous equipment.
Additional Information:
- Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
- Experience with aircraft systems and assembly is highly preferred.
- Candidates previously submitted to requisition 61649-1 will not be considered for this role.
