Job Description:

USPS is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and the IT team.  This role serves as a strategic partner to both technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that solutions satisfy organizational objectives.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USPS. You will play a crucial role in optimizing the business functions at USPS. We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team who can work both independently and lead a team of programmers/developers/testers.  They will need to be capable of working directly with business customers to develop their requirements and develop application designs that are within postal standards.  This includes reviewing legacy applications and reverse engineering them to extract the business functionality and edit and develop specifications for enhanced business functionality into a new robust application design.

Key Responsibilities:

·Coordinate with Developers and service providers to ensure availability and task assignments.    

·Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements and forming project team.

·Establishes project estimates.

·Provides support to the development and testing scrum teams.

·Ensures delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk.

·Provides industry thought leadership to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements.

·Demonstrates forward thinking in how technology can support modernization efforts.

·Incident Management – Ability to lead as a Critical Incident Manager to restore production applications impacting events.

·Able to manage multiple IT projects simultaneously.

·Able to present and communicate at all levels within an organization.

·Provides Project Planning

·May coordinate the systems installation with the Client’s organization

·Assists with Requirements Management

Education:

Bachelor’s degree desired but not required

10 years of experience required

Required Technical Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong business analysis skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to adjust well in constantly changing environments.

  • Stay calm and composed under stress.

  • Effective at building strong business relationships across teams to ensure a positive customer experience and quality of software projects into Production.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to effectively work directly with customers, the executive leadership team, and technical staff.

  • Effective liaison between business and technical teams.

  • Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups.

  • Strong ability to guide development team activities from requirements to implementation in all aspects of a software development lifecycle with little supervision.

  • Perform analysis to support the development and validation of requirements.

  • Able to effectively translate business requirements/needs into detailed software requirements and support tasks utilizing Agile methodologies and setup of work management tools (like VersionOne).

  • Able to communicate technical information to others, expressing facts or ideas clearly, orally or in writing, when answering questions, giving directions, and providing information, individually or in groups
