The Resettlement Associate assists caseworkers and job developers to provide case management and employment services to newly arrived refugees and other eligible immigrants through the Matching Grant program.  This is a full time, temporary position for 90 days.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Assist clients to navigate benefits through the Department of Social Services
  • Provide coaching and instruction to assist clients to increase proficiency in independent navigation of community systems and resources
  • Provide transportation to clients as needed to attend job interviews, trainings, etc.
  • Assist with interview preparation, resume creation and job coaching   
  • Provide financial literacy and budget coaching
  • Conduct well-being check-ins for clients
  • Conduct ongoing administrative duties including maintenance of case files, case notes and data entry.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Excellent cross-cultural competence 
  • Highly self-motivated with strong follow-through and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Bilingual fluency in Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Swahili or Kinyarwanda preferred 

Requirements

  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Associate degree in social work or related field, or equivalent professional experience 
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and some experience in data management
  • Valid driver’s license, regular access to vehicle, and ability/willingness to drive clients to appointments
  • Flexible schedule for occasional work during early mornings, late evenings or weekends
