We are seeking an Energy Discipline Leader to help grow and shape our Energy practice across the Northeast while mentoring teams and delivering impactful infrastructure solutions.

 

This role blends strategic leadership, client partnership, and technical excellence. You will expand relationships with public and private energy utilities, develop and lead energy infrastructure programs, and guide multidisciplinary teams delivering site/civil solutions for transmission, distribution, and substation projects. You’ll play a key role in winning work, delivering quality, and fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.

The firm maintains a robust resume of energy infrastructure commissions for underground transmission, overhead transmission, substation, gas transmission and distribution, and electric vehicle infrastructure projects. We focus on design opportunities along the eastern seaboard and are expanding further in the northeast region in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We have delivered this work in a variety of delivery platforms including conventional Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build.

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. The insurance package includes medical, dental, vision, and supplemental life. Additional insurances, at no cost to the employee: life (employee only), accidental death and dismemberment, business travel and accident, and short- and long-term disability are also provided. Employees pay a share of Dewberry’s premium expenses (on a pre-tax basis) for medical and dental insurance plans.

Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute business strategies that drive revenue and profit margin growth;
  • Develop and implement a strategy to increase Dewberry’s brand recognition as a provider to northeast region core energy accounts;
  • Meet with prospective and existing clients to develop and capture new business;
  • Serve as a client manager or deputy client manager for select Energy accounts;
  • Coordinate northeast region energy account sales pipeline and report status to Energy Business Unit Manager and northeast Business Unit Managers and leadership;
  • Develop responses to requests for proposals and qualifications, including cost proposals;
  • Serve as Project Manager for complex and volume based projects;
  • Collaborate proactively and productively with other groups and company offices;
  • Manage project financials and cash flow;
  • Collaborate with and manage multi-discipline teams;
  • Assist with training and mentoring staff;
  • Engage with project deliverables including quality control reviews and quality management system adherence;
  • Monitor staffing (talent and capacity) and advise Energy Business Unit Manager and northeast Business Unit Manager(s) on current and future needs.
  • Work closely with operations and HR to recruit, develop, and retain top energy talent.
