Qualifications:
Rising Sophomore to Graduate Students currently enrolled in a college or university
Interns must be willing to attend a two-day orientation on Eastern Standard Time 

Summary of This Role

The Information Security Intern will provide technical and administrative support to the Senior Technical Program Manager in deploying Information Security tools to the Global Payments Enterprise Business Units (BUs).

The person in this role will work collaboratively with other information security personnel and provide support in deploying Information Security prevention and detection systems to the BU’s globally.

Support in scheduling deployment strategy meetings, capturing meeting minutes, and assisting in preparing regular reports to communicate the status of the security tool deployment effort.

What Part Will You Play?

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Perform tasks and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor for this role.

  • Assists with the planning, executing, controlling, and reporting on complex and unique security tool deployments to our BUs globally.

  • Demonstrate willingness to assume additional responsibilities as requested 

  • Act professionally and build positive working relationships

  • Perform assignments that may require a broad range of contact interactions, including Global Payments Senior Security leadership.

  • Offer and present improved alternatives to accomplish tasks as encouraged

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • A college student interested in a career focused on Information Security Standards, and security tools. One must be able to communicate effectively with Information Security Leaders in countries around the world. Be familiar with Information Security goals in an enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision in an office environment and able to provide administrative support.

What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?

  • Communication Skills - As an Intern in Information Security, there are interactions with many individuals in leadership positions throughout the life cycle of a tool deployment, such as project managers, sponsors, stakeholders, and the BU Information Security team members. For this reason, one must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Problem-Solving Skills - There will be issues, challenges, and different types of problems, big and small. For this reason, the intern must communicate to the Program Manager all issues, problems, or concerns as they arise promptly.

  • Change Management Skills - As Security tools are deployed in each Business Unit, there are many variables, and many situations that might force the deployment team to change the original deployment plan. The Program Intern must be able to adapt to these changes.

  • Organizational Skills - Requires organizational skills such as time management, planning, and goal setting.
