The Opportunity:
As Associate Cloud Engineer, you will help ensure the quality of the observability platforms and products. You will report to the Application Development Team Lead to set up and support the rest of our Technology organization with platforms and tools that enable Fisher's Observability platform (APM, Logging, Tracing, Alerting, Visualization, AIOps).
This team provides the backbone systems that allow many information technology groups to perform their jobs, gain insight into their own processes, and solve the problems they encounter while achieving their goals.
The Day-to-Day:
- Design, configure and set up observability platform tools (Splunk, Dynatrace), both on-premises and cloud based, to drive application development efficiencies and improve operational stability of the applications
- Develop tooling and processes to increase automation of monitoring and adherence to security and audit systems and controls
- Integrate and configure additional tools/frameworks as needed, to support and enable automation of various monitoring activities across the enterprise
- Perform analytics on incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions
- Foster the adoption of SRE tools and capabilities across Technology groups
- Partner with Service owners to implement Service Level Metrics & Service Level Objectives that act as service level health indicators
- Measure, communicate and deliver on enterprise platforms stability, scalability and technology organizations maturity in DevOps
- Resolve issues, alerts, and incidents based on predefined service level agreements regarding system availability, performance, and service levels
Your Qualifications:
- Experience with one of the following languages: .Net, JavaScript, Java, C/C++ or any other similar programming language
- Scripting experience with Unix Shell Scripting, Python, Pearl or PowerShell
- Experience in Relational database management skills like MSSQL, MySQL or SQL
- Experience in any of the cloud implementations like Azure, AWS or GCP
- Good knowledge of software development lifecycle with focus on application performance and monitoring
- Experience working in various SDLC methodologies preferably Agile
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or other science field required
