Overview

The Endocrine Stimulation Testing Staff Nurse will be responsible for performing 1-3 stimulation tests per day.  The stimulation tests are utlized to diagnose and rule out specific endocrine disorders, including the following: growth hormone deficiency, adrenal insufficiency, diabetes, and precoscious puberty.

 

Desired skills to be successful:

• IV skills (most tests require an IV)
• Time management (managing 2 tests at a time with timed draws)
• Assessment/Monitoring for hypotension and hypoglycemia
• Communication with providers

 

Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require hospital care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients. Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Registered nurses coordinate patient care with nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree ADN Required
  • Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role. 
• Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred
  • for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.
