About the role

Phlebotomist

Status: Part - Time

Shift:  Two Days a week approximately 6hrs per week.

Location: Avamere Riverpark of Eugene - 425 Alexander Loop, Eugene, OR 97401

Responsibilities:

  • Calling in orders
  • Assisting in pharmacy orders and retrieving medical records.
  • Speaking with patient families as directed
  • Data entry
  • Contacting facilities and physician offices for patient status, needs and coordination of care
  • Patient Contact; vitals, weight, blood pressure, checking pulse. 
  • Locating patients in advance of physician visit
  • Medical billing; insurance authorizations, communication with entities
  • Conduct blood draws 
  • Complete requisition forms
  • Deliver tests to the lab

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Medical Assistant in this state.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols and terms relative to the administration of medications.
  • Work positively with staff to coordinate care and physician work flow
  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Must have an active CPR/BLS certification
