Job Summary

The PMO Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the execution of organizational projects within the pension system. This individual will recommend and implement processes and procedures for prioritizing and managing projects throughout the organization in alignment with TRS strategic goals.  They will manage PMO Staff and consultants which may include project managers, business analysts and organizational change practitioners to ensure effective project delivery. The PMO manager will provide visibility to leadership on project status, risks, and opportunities.  Additionally, the PMO manager may also serve as a project manager as needed.

Essential Functions

• Lead the PMO team in managing a portfolio of projects related to Strategic objectives, pension system enhancements, process improvements, and technology implementations.
• Mentor and guide project managers
• Foster a collaborative and results-oriented project management culture.
• Implement standardized project management methodologies and tools.
• Apply appropriate Project Management Framework for the needs of each project.
• Responsible for leading the organizational adoption of Project and Portfolio management systems and processes to manage project requests, governance, reporting and management.

• Collaborate with organizational and project specific change champions to ensure seamless integration of project initiatives.

• Promote change readiness and adoption across the pension system.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, milestones, key performance indicators, risks and concerns.
