About the role

Overview

Integrate emergency care for individual patients and implement nursing standards in the processes of care.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process in caring for all patients, to include: assessing symptoms, planning interventions, implementing treatment plans, evaluating responses to interventions, and revising plan based on overall effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the population served.
  • Adheres to the established practice standards and procedures at New London Hospital, in the administration of all medications and in-patient care activities.
  • Documents care provided using hospital standards.
  • Provides education to patients and families based on assessment of learning needs.
  • Follows the Standards of Practice established for the Emergency Services Department.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical practice required. 
  • ED experience preferred.

Required Licensure/Certifications

REQUIRED LICENSE(S): • Licensed RN with NH eligibility REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: • (ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support • (BLS) Basic Life Support
