The Work

The Physical Readiness Program Instructor will be responsible for the administrative coordination of the program to include maintaining records and test scores, scheduling training and testing events, organizing equipment, preparing training materials, and performing other general administrative duties as required. The incumbent will also support training delivery as an instructor in physical fitness, functional fitness, basic nutrition, injury prevention, and sports medicine care, with responsibility for planning, organizing, and presenting of one or more of these courses and for evaluating training effectiveness to ensure that objectives are met. The Physical Readiness Program Instructor serves as a subject matter expert for all specialized physical readiness program material and presentations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares and/or edits charts, spreadsheets, memos and other general office documents and material as required.
  • Manages office databases.
  • Inputs financial data, results from surveys, critiques and tests; generates performance measurement and other administrative reports.
  • Assists with the analysis of data to identify and resolve issues.
  • Attend meetings and captures and distributes minutes derived from the meetings.
  • Prepares and/or edits standard operating procedures.
  • Assists with all aspects of travel to support Program office staff to include coordinating logistics and transportation needs and the generation of government travel orders.
  • Drafts routine cables utilizing the Government's cabling system, CableXpress.
  • Compiles weekly activities and other routine reports for the Program office.
  • Creates and maintains electronic and hard copy centralized Program office files in areas such as the budget, equipment purchases requisitions, end-of-course reports, student critiques, travel, and general correspondence.
  • Provides project support and other administrative support as required.
  • Performs special assignments upon request.
  • This role will require supervision and has limited opportunity to exercise independent judgment and initiative in the line of work.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must have or be able to attain a current CPR certification.
  • Must have or be able to attain a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification from a third-party accreditor recognized by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
  • At least five (5) years of instructor experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant physical fitness training experience.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in fitness career field preferred.
  • Secret Clearance is required.
  • Due to the nature of work at the client’s site, U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:

  • Must have excellent people and organizational skills.
  • Maintains requisite levels of proficiency in all duty-related techniques and procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of physical fitness, functional fitness, basic nutrition, injury prevention, and sports medicine care.
  • Familiarity with law enforcement/military fitness training and testing methods preferred.
  • Ability to immediately analyze, predict, and preclude situations to ensure training is conducted in a safe manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain liaison with personnel at all levels in order to plan and coordinate assigned responsibilities.
