About the role

Home Away serves youth facing housing insecurity, many of whom are living in shelters or transitional housing situations. Our program participants attend school in San Francisco, and many struggle academically. Therefore, this position requires a compassionate leader who is knowledgeable of the school system and deeply understands the connection between emotional and academic development. The purpose of the Home Away Senior Program Manager (SPM) is to oversee the program's daily programmatic and administrative operations. Daily program operations include but are not limited to, program design (academic/emotional support & college and career readiness, program outings), individual student check-ins to asses progress and needs leading to effective case management (individual learning plans and referrals using students' support tiered system), and ensuring agency policies and grant requirements are followed while providing a welcoming and nurturing environment for students, volunteers, families, and staff.  The ideal candidate is charismatic, has a continuous quality mindset, and is passionate about advocating for students' needs. This position requires a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills to develop a thriving program that builds alliances with stakeholders to meet the needs of all participants so they can reach their full potential.
