Department Overview

The Enterprise Project Governance organization enhances and improves project planning and execution through consistent and robust project management practices and governance across the enterprise enabling breakthrough outcomes in service of our hometowns.​​​​​​​ This is accomplished through the development and management of effective standards, processes, training, reporting and governance.

 

Position Summary

Develops and manages best practice process and guidance documentation to drive effective and optimized planning and execution of projects managed by the Major Projects organization.

 

This position’s work products strive to ensure projects are delivered in a consistent and compliant manner with quality, timely, cost-effective, reliable and predictable results that achieve established project and organizational goals.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

  • Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)            $136,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)        $184,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)           $232,000.00

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage quality project management processes, procedures and other guidance documents associated with, but not limited to, the following areas: project development and initiation, project planning, stage gate and financial authorizations, change control, scope management, cost management, schedule management, resource management, risk and issue management, contract management, accrual and invoice management, document management, and project closeout. 
  • Maintain and continuously enhance Reference Library of procedures, guidelines, forms, templates, checklists, etc., ensuring review and necessary updates at a frequency aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards partnering with relevant stakeholders as needed including Enterprise Project Governance, Project Management, Finance, Accounting, Sourcing, Information & Records Governance, and Safety.
  • Analyze available project management metrics, key performance indicator results, lessons learned logs, survey results and other sources to assess team performance, recognize success and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage compliance and monitoring plan for all procedures to ensure adherence to and effectiveness of procedural requirements, document and report out results from audits, and develop corrective action plans as needed.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to evaluate and close performance gaps, streamline processes and eliminate waste.
  • Develop and deliver formal training and provide ad hoc coaching associated with managed processes/procedures to ensure ongoing project management team knowledge, work quality and practical application of guidance documents.
  • Collaborate with accountable team members to provide guidance for technology system, tool and reporting enhancements.
  • May provide direction and coaching to other Business Process Analysts.

 

Qualifications

 Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Project Management or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 years of related or equivalent experience.
  • LSS Green Belt.

 

Desired:

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
  • LSS Black Belt.
  • Project Management Professional certification or equivalent.
