Summary
Skyworks is seeking a PA/LNA RFIC and Module Design Engineer for its Mobile Solutions (MSB) Division in Andover, MA design center. Job Description
- Design RF front-end Module (FEM) of multi-GHz complex Tx/Rx architectures that consist of amplifiers, filters, switches
- Design of multi-function silicon-based RFICs including, LNA, Switch, PAs
- Requires knowledge of RF performance tradeoff with each building block of the module design, strong background in RF and Microwave design is desired
- Assists design using RF EM/modeling 3D/2.5D tools, using HFSS, EMX or similar
- Presentation of detailed design reviews including all aspects of design: IC, Package, EM, & Thermal
- Design package/substrate using MCM/PCB layout tools, to optimize FEM floorplan between IC and CAD designers
- Assist in RF test evaluation, summarization of data, supervision of lab evaluation and hands-on tuning of prototype hardware for validation
Job Requirements
- BS with 7 years or MS with 4+ years of RF design experience, with strong background in RF and Microwave design
- Strong knowledge of RF circuit architectures and design tradeoffs such as PA’s, LNA’s, and Switches
- Expertise with Keysight ADS, and/or Cadence and associated simulation engines and data displays
- Experience and fluency with 3-D and 2.5-D EM design/simulation tools. For example, ANSYS HFSS, Keysight FEM, Keysight Momentum, Cadence EMX etc.
- Work with a variety of technologies including SOI, SiGe and CMOS to implement innovative RF circuitry to support wireless product offerings
- Experience with RFIC layout planning & MCM layout tools
- Experience measuring, tuning, optimizing RF and/or analog/mixed-signal ICs
- Familiarity with thermal design techniques and considerations
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
