Overview

Process metallurgical support for rolling mill and supervision of shift personnel

Responsibilities

• Technical supervision with all of operations as it relates to product quality and process performance
• Interface with other departments for managing product quality
• Execute all trials in collaboration with other Metallurgists, Engineers and Supervisors
• Maintain all quality systems (BSS, QCBD, CAR, MOC)
• Continuous process monitoring, analysis, and improvement
• Assisting Supervisors in reviewing and approving raw materials and suppliers

 

Qualifications

Required

• B.S. degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years of experience in steel production and/or applications
• Safety focus
• Proven leadership, verbal & written communications, and presentation skills
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated, positive outlook, team player
• Strong orientation for continuous improvement and innovation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred

• Work experience in Melt Shops, specifically with arc furnaces
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures
• Experience operating an arc furnace
• Experience using an oxygen lance, cutting torch, welder, and other hand tools
• Experience working swing or rotating shift
