The Need  

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Global Programs Project Management Intern to join the 2025 Fall Internship class.  

 

The Global Programs Project Management Intern will support a team of Coordinators and Project Managers that supports the various strategic initiatives and ongoing operations happening across Global Programs.  

 

The Global Programs Project Management Intern will support the multi-faceted Operations and Portfolio Management team supporting the key initiatives of the division and ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Tasks may include:   

 

  • Coordinating and supporting events and training; 

  • Intranet site management; 

  • Compiling reports and data; 

  • Project management; 

  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support. 

   

This position can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Coordinator, Operations & Portfolio Management. The position requires 40 hours per week. 

 

Fall internship program dates are Sept. 8 – Dec. 11, 2025    

 

General Qualifications and Required Skills   

  • Bachelor's degree must be in progress for DC/Remote Internships and applicants need to have completed at least two years of undergraduate study.  

  • Experience with using Microsoft Suite. 

  • Experience in intranet site management and resource development. 

  • Experience with graphic design a plus. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
