A challenging career opportunity exists for a Shared Services Accounting Manager who will provide support and expertise to the department as it relates to process improvement in the area of accounts payable, receivables, credit and other general ledger administration. The individual will work closely with the Shared Services Supervisor Finance Director, Shared Services to meet department goals and help facilitate overall business strategy. Core Responsibilities:
- Process re-engineering/Streamlining in Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable and Payroll using automation tools (OR Identify, recommend and implement process improvements for AP/AR/Payroll and GL)
- Identify and/or assist in researching solutions to accounting issues related to AP/AR/Payroll and GL; drives implementation of resolutions/corrective actions, as required; working with divisional operational and finance team members in providing technical accounting guidance and other support. Act as liaison with operating locations for all shared services transactions; as needed utilize expertise in resolving and escalated issues/problems for proper resolution and handling.
- Analyze and recommend improvements on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for duties and functions preformed; maintain quality turnback (error) data for various supported business in order to identify root causes and provide remediation as needed.
- Work with Shared Service Supervisors and Finance Director in driving the strategic direction of the department including collaboration to integrate General Ledger functionality into Shared Services
- Support monthly close process (ie create journal entries, reconcile accounts)
- Manage newly created G/L Team
- Interface with SBU, Corporate and Division staff to provide timely and accurate feedback on requests for information
- Support for additional projects and analysis requirements from senior management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success in a corporate accounting setting; preferably with proven process improvement track record
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with a worldwide divisional finance teams
- Meticulous Attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills required; the individual should have an inquiring and analytical mind with the objective of providing a constructive as well as an investigative review role.
- Be extremely organized, demonstrate initiative and an ability to complete multiple assignments in a timely manner while working well in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to understand and apply accounting principles and techniques and demonstrated proficiency of A/P, A/R and Payroll workflows
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in accounting degree. Advanced degree (MBA is a plus)
