Plant Security Guard* (Valley, NE)

As Plant Security, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Starting base pay rate $26.71/hour (plus $1.00/hour shift differential)
• Observing and enforcing 3M Security Policies, including badge system for employees, visitors, and contractors
• Responding to and mobilizing resources in response to emergency situations (fire, medical, spill, intrusion, etc.)
• Maintaining CPR certification with ability to provide First Aid services
• Providing telephone coverage by operating plant switchboard and directing phone calls to appropriate location
• Removing snow and ice from doorways and sidewalks as needed
• Reporting and logging environmental non-conformances
• Maintaining fire extinguishers throughout plant
• Greeting and directing customers, candidates, and other plant visitors
• Operating and maintaining the following equipment: PC, card access system, portable radios, cameras, emergency communication alarm systems, MSDS system
• Observing and reporting safety and security matters to management personnel
• Performing miscellaneous clerical duties and data entry

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed prior to start)
• Interested and available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Working a rotating 12-hour shift from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Previous experience working in Security
• Switchboard experience

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
