About the team

The Talent Mobility team plays a crucial role in consulting with individual Stripes, their managers, and business units in navigating the intricacies of travel, temporary moves, permanent relocations, immigration, and career development opportunities. Serving as a strategic lever to achieve our talent goals, Talent Mobility facilitates the business in hiring and deploying talent globally and supports Stripes in gathering experiences to refine their skills. This is achieved through the design and management of comprehensive Global Mobility, Immigration, and Internal Mobility programs that foster seamless user experiences.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Program Manager to deliver an excellent experience to users and partners as well as craft and iterate on sustainable, reliable and efficient Talent Mobility programs. This role will involve developing and implementing policies, procedures, and strategies to effectively manage employee mobility (including international assignments, transfers, relocation, remote hub and internal mobility), immigration, and mobility tax. The Program Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including HR, Legal, Finance, Payroll, Talent & Development and external vendors, to ensure seamless and compliant mobility processes.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive talent mobility program strategy aligned with Stripe's objectives and business needs.
  • Design and enhance policies, guidelines, and procedures related to employee mobility, immigration, mobility tax and relocation processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal/regulatory requirements related to talent mobility.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers, such as relocation service providers, tax consultants, and immigration lawyers, to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to optimize services and costs.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to employee mobility.
  • Mitigate risks associated with talent mobility by developing and implementing appropriate controls, policies, and practices.
  • Conduct audits and reviews to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, including employees, People team, legal, finance, payroll and other pillar/functions.
  • Develop user content and enablement and conduct training sessions and workshops to educate partner teams on talent mobility programs and processes
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and effectiveness of talent mobility programs.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and analysis of program data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Use data insights to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance talent mobility programs.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of global mobility experience, with a preference for mobility program management or global operations experience
  • Extensive experience in talent mobility management or related roles, preferably in a multinational organization.
  • Knowledge of international assignment policies, immigration laws, tax regulations, and relocation processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Familiarity with cultural differences and sensitivity to the needs of globally mobile employees.
