Lingoda’s MATCH network and Global Career Centre seek to upskill and match migrants to career opportunities in Germany, supporting them through government-funded education programs
In the German healthcare sector, we support international nurses, doctors and midwives to obtain language and professional recognition through state-sponsored education programs. As a result we have become one of the largest educational providers in this field in Germany

AI will help scale and enhance our human centered teaching approach for our Teachers and Students. It is fundamental in the achievement of the Lingoda product vision. We are currently looking for a VP of AI / Head of AI (all genders) based in Berlin or working remotely in the EU/UK to lead our founding AI team.
Your mission with us:
The Vice President of Artificial Intelligence (VP of AI) / Head of AI will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, development, and implementation of AI initiatives across Lingoda.
Collaborating and integrating very closely with our Marketing, Product and Engineering teams you will lead a team of AI experts to ideate, prototype and develop AI solutions that can be integrated into our Lingoda platform. The team will be our AI lab exploring new use cases, technologies and possibilities - building rapid POC’s testing ideas. Once the idea is proven the team will hand over the POCs to our development pods to take forwards.
You will be well connected with the rapidly growing and changing AI landscape, up to speed with the latest developments and research, ready to keep Linogda on the cutting edge of this space. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of AI technologies, a proven track record of successful AI projects, and the ability to align AI strategies with business objectives.
This role will report to the CTO.

Your tasks:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the AI strategy, aligning it with the company’s overall business goals and product vision
- Innovation and Development: Lead the research, development, and implementation of AI solutions that enhance products, services, and business processes
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing AI team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Project Oversight: Oversee the lifecycle of AI projects, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring they meet technical and business requirements
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, data science, and marketing, to integrate AI solutions effectively
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate AI strategies, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership, board members, and other key stakeholders
- Ethics and Compliance: Ensure AI initiatives adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements, promoting responsible AI practices
- Market Analysis & Horizon scanning: Stay abreast and ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
You bring to Lingoda:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience in running a rapid lab/prototyping team on generating POC’s
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AI technologies, LLMs, building AI products/solutions, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vis
