Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer to lead the design and contribute with code on a daily basis to the development of a cutting-edge Java-based software solution with Mobile (Android) development knowledge and expertise. This solution involves a Java backend integrating with multiple systems via APIs, a mobile client with offline capabilities, secure biometric data capture and synchronization, and complex business workflows. The ideal candidate will not only possess strong technical expertise but also demonstrate leadership qualities to guide a team of junior engineers and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including testers, system integrators, and external entities.

 

Key Missions

Software Architecture Design and Implementation: 

• Contribute to the design the overall software architecture, encompassing backend, mobile client, API integrations, biometric data handling, and business workflow management.
• Define clear architectural patterns, principles, and best practices for the development team.
• Identify and select appropriate technologies and frameworks for each component of the system.
• Contribute to the implementation of core modules and critical components of the architecture.
• Ensure the architecture is scalable, secure, performant, and maintainable.
• Serves as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, end-to-end.
• Develops and documents architecture specifications that serve as the reference for engineering and execution.
• Design and implement secure storage and transmission of biometric data, adhering to best practices and relevant regulations.
• Design and implement synchronization mechanisms between the mobile client and the backend, considering offline capabilities and data consistency.

API Integration: 

• Design and implement robust and efficient APIs for integration with various internal and external systems.
• Define data exchange formats and protocols.
• Ensure API security and proper authentication/authorization mechanisms.

Mobile Client Development Considerations: 

• Contribute to design the mobile client architecture, considering offline functionality and data synchronization.
• Collaborate with mobile developers to ensure seamless integration with the backend.

Biometric Data Handling: 

• Design and implement secure capture, encryption, storage, and synchronization of biometric data.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).

Business Workflow Management: 

• Model and implement complex business workflows, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: 
• Lead and mentor a small team of junior software engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure code quality.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Collaboration and Communication: 

• Collaborate effectively with testers, system integrators, and external stakeholders (including state entities) to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Monitors and enforces consistency of software design and technologies among all components.
• Supports developers on managing technical issues.
• Supports Product Owner on managing backlog and priorities
• Provides design and validation reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as integration, performance and scalability.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in software
