Job Description:

   

The Senior Vice President of Engineering focuses on executive leadership of ASIC, silicon, and hardware engineering within the networking high-end data centers, AI infrastructure build, branch and campus, and high-end routing industry. Work includes defining, designing, developing, validating, troubleshooting, and productizing custom silicon, hardware platforms, and system-level solutions that power high-performance routing, switching, data center, cloud, AI networking, service provider, and enterprise networking products. Requires deep knowledge of ASIC development, custom/commercial hardware architecture dealing with various JDM, ODM, as well as CM partners, networking systems, silicon lifecycle execution, hardware/software integration, and the engineering methodologies and modern AI tools required to deliver scalable, reliable, and competitive networking platforms. Deep knowledge of RTL, SDK, and mechanical optics is desirable.

Directs and manages a diverse global organization of ASIC, silicon, hardware, systems, validation, and platform engineering professionals responsible for the architecture, development, implementation, and delivery of networking and routing products across the company’s portfolio. Responsible for creating and communicating the technical strategy for custom silicon and hardware platforms, aligning networking ASIC roadmaps with product, software, supply chain, customer, and business priorities, and influencing technology direction across the function and broader organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the strategy, architecture, execution, and delivery of a global ASIC and hardware engineering organization, including silicon design, hardware platforms, systems engineering, validation, and productization from concept through production release.
  • Drives end-to-end execution across complex custom silicon and hardware development lifecycles, including architecture tradeoffs, RTL and IP development, verification, emulation, DFT, physical design, post-silicon validation, lab bring-up, system integration, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Partners with product, software, supply chain, operations, customers, and executive stakeholders to align ASIC and hardware roadmaps with business priorities, customer requirements, cost targets, quality expectations, and time-to-market goals.
  • Defines and advances hardware and ASIC strategies for routing, switching, and high-performance networking platforms, including data center, hyperscaler, AI networking, campus, service provider, and edge networking environments.
  • Leads innovation across networking hardware architectures, packet forwarding, routing scale, telemetry, high-speed Ethernet, optical interconnects, platform resiliency, and system-level performance to support next-generation networking products.
  • Manages overall operational activities for the organization, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that strategic goals and budgets are met in accordance with organizational metrics and business plans.
  • Engages with senior and executive leadership for programs, marketing, supply chain, and technical leaders to integrate activities, escalate and resolve issues, and guide and influence company-wide strategic decision-making
