Emergency Department Technician

Job Description

Emergency Department Technicians provide basic care to patients and assists them in daily activities; providing comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring along with other patient care intervention in collaboration with a registered nurse.

7:00pm - 7:00am with weekend and holiday rotation. Pay based on experience starting at $17.79 per hour + shift differential

Responsibilities

Abnormal vital signs are reported immediately to registered nurse., All ED rooms are checked each shift for linen and supplies., Assist registered nurse and physician with assessments, examinations and treatment., Assists registered nurse and/or physician with examination, suturing, splinting and dressing and documention in the EMR., Assist with oxygen therapy set up., Bedside report at beginning of shift., Cardiac and telemetry unit initiated and patient admitted to central monitor., ED log book is kept current., Label all specimens in patients presence., Notifies registered nurse when complaints of pain and/or change in condition., Record all vitals, I&O, and specimen collection., Rounding on patients with rounding note entered into the EMR., Transport patients as necessay.  Assist with moving, ambulating, and lifting., Triage patients and enter information into the EMR.

Requirements:
