We are hiring! Workday is seeking a Senior Manager, International Tax to join a collaborative and growing Tax Team. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated international tax leader with a mix of industry and professional service firm experience with a desire to jump right in and make a difference. Reporting to the Senior Director, International Tax, this position will provide support in a myriad of international tax activities, including but not limited to tax planning, US international and foreign income tax compliance, and tax provisions for the Workday foreign operations.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate and support international tax planning function and related tax modeling and cash tax forecast.
Support M&A projects including post-acquisition IP/compliance and integration.
Play a key role engaging in business partnering with cross functional groups within the company to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure that tax needs are identified, communicated and provided.
Monitor international tax related global legislative and regulatory changes and assess tax impacts to Workday’s operations.
Lead the international portion of US income tax compliance, with solid experience on subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, foreign tax credits and cash repatriation.
Perform quarterly and annual international aspects of ASC 740 reporting, disclosure, and SOX compliance.
Lead local country income tax return compliance process with external providers and support foreign finance teams in review of statutory financials of foreign subsidiaries for a designated geographical region.
Support foreign tax audit defense and notices as required.
Along with the broader international tax team, run international withholding tax compliance and reporting and support AR and AP teams in relation to customer and supplier transactions.
Lead and support of efficient processes in relation to the above, including automation, developing and implementing procedural changes and/or processes.
About You
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA required. MST is a plus.
10+ years of international and corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or high-tech industry; software/SaaS experience preferred.
Minimum 8 years of ASC 740 financial reporting experience, either preparation or audit/review capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of an organization; ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
Curious, love to learn and desire to advance with a growth mindset.
Extensive knowledge of US international technical issues as well as foreign corporate and indirect tax matters.
Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities, able to research complex tax matters.
Strong project management and multitasking skills; organized and diligent to details.
Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members.
Proficient in MS Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoin
