Principal Solutions Architect (Data Engineering) - Corporate (Remote)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for collaborating with product teams, customers, and engineers to establish agreements and devise solutions aligned with top priorities.  Additionally, advocates for best practices amongst the development and engineering teams, championing Agile, DevOps and data security best practices.
• Directly responsible for technical designs, code development, and deployment processes of the Data Engineering platforms.
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance within the architecture.
• Prepare strategic plans, task development, estimates, work plans, project working papers, project schedules and reports for management. Provide quality assurance and leadership in solving system problems and designing system enhancements. 
• Assists with attracting, hiring, retaining, and motivating talent.
• Manage technical issues, support escalations, and multiple concurrent work streams. 
• Participate in key project deliverables; provide proactive consulting and direction to all development and support teams. Help articulate and support key architectural and technical objectives through project teams and provide a focused, accessible body of knowledge and historical/directional perspective on various IT systems and resources. 
• Proactively drive the mentoring process of all junior and future technical track IT staff.  Perform detailed code reviews and develop organized and coherent code for advanced features. Coordinate with other architects to synchronize common goals and activities within IT and with business partners.

• Responsible for providing the development support and leadership for the design and implementation of data system integration, adherence to enterprise-wide data and software architectural goals, and completion of comprehensive documentation. Assist in the development of solutions to control access and ensure data and program integrity. 
• Provide functional leadership within the IT Team to ensure that complex implementations and integrations of databases, systems, operating systems, networks, and vendor software are successful and tested end-to-end.  Provide leadership support for problem resolution.
• Understand key cost elements related to the delivery of projects, products, or systems. Seek methods to optimize performance, reduce costs and improve service levels. Formulate systems scope and objectives; provide high-level estimates on complex systems and present to management.
• Stay abreast of new technology developments. Maintain expert knowledge on in-house systems, appropriate vendor systems, product performance, viability and pricing. Seen as an expert both internally and externally. Analyze and evaluate complex application designs for compatibility with existing systems, and compliance to Caesars and known industry standards, and consistency with Caesars long-term business needs, strategies and policies.
• Perform functional system design across heterogeneous systems company wide. Researches technical/functional solutions and products as part of designing systems and identifying solutions to technical/functional issues.
• Provide close direction and support to data engineers and consultants on all work streams. Ensure all deliverables have an established response time and performance objectives, and optimize code as needed to meet SLAs. 
• Has an in-depth knowledge of the business value of technology and can communicate it both within and outside IT.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) across a variety of functions and organizations.
• Plan and manage a large team and multiple projects (12+).

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• In-depth knowledge of Caesars business processes, systems platforms and infrastructure architecture. Develops and trains internal staff on business processes.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands on experience working in cloud environments including configuration and cost optimization. Hands on experience working with devops pipelines, multi-cloud environments, and Data Warehouse management.  This includes performance optimization, proficiency in writing SQL, and ETL development. 
• Stay current with future design, development, and functional trends by attending relevant educational courses, seminars, and conferences.  Maintain in-depth knowledge on appropriate business functionality and software design/development methodologies.  Share knowledge with management, peers and co-workers to maintain Caesars leadership position in the IT community.
