Data Warehouse Architect

BASIC FUNCTION:  

Design and build Data Warehouse structures to support ESD’s reporting and analytic needs. Work closely with Data Architects to develop a thorough understanding of the organizations data needs, ensure that all data points are correctly identified and develop processes for capturing and storing this data. Duties will include: surveying existing business functionality, designing data warehousing structures, data mapping, data mining, transformation and loading, performance monitoring, end user support, system disaster recovery, Quality of Service (QoS) testing and documentation as well as to provide technical assistance in any other area of IT as directed by department managers.

WORK PERFORMED:

• Develop Data Warehouse structures conducive to sourcing reports and analytics
• Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for importing data into the warehouse
• Utilize industry best Data Mining techniques to analyze large datasets for discernable trends and patterns in support of organizational business process and goals
• Author functional specifications for Data Warehouse structures
• Aid in capturing and maintaining the organizations master data
• Document Data Warehouse designs, infrastructure, interfaces, processes, workflows and security requirements
• Provide Data Analysis, establish mapping and Ad Hoc reporting as required by application users and ESD Management
• Aid in maintaining the organizations master Data Dictionary
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, meet established guidelines
• Assist in IT Disaster Recovery efforts and perform other related duties as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required:  Bachelor’s degree in an IT related discipline with minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field; Or a 2 year degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience; Or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Experience required:  Extensive experience in Systems Analysis, Data Architecture, Data Mining, Data Warehouse and Data Mart design, development of ETL processes, SQL SSAS and various storage models.

Knowledge required: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Data Management and Reporting tools, MS SQL Server 2016+ and higher, industry leading BI, Data Analytic, Mining and Reporting tools.

Experience in the development of dashboard and report development utilizing BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or others, knowledge of CRM Dynamics, system design principles; Ability to work with a diverse group of people at both a functional and technical level and communicate at a level appropriate to audience; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Strong written and verbal communication skills.
