Director, Industry Advisor (Financial Services)
What you will be doing:
This role has a big impact with client engagement, the development of the go-to-market strategy for FINS and the strategy for how Salesforce can win in the market in the short and long term. This includes working broadly across Distribution, Marketing, Programs, Enablement, Solutions and Product to grow ACV, build strong long-term partnerships with key clients, deepen understanding of current and future industry dynamics and coordinating the delivery of the GTM strategy to the market. This role works internally to design and develop strategy for the industry vertical. It also works externally with customers to confidently deliver how Salesforce solutions solve problems and deliver outcomes.
What we are looking for:
* Industry Expertise: Researching and bringing deep understanding of the business processes and economics of the industries served in FINS.
* Sales Acumen: Understanding of technology sales cycles and the ability to meaningfully contributing to the ACV engine by collaborating on big bets, navigation of complex deals, winning new logos, and simplifying difficult solutions
* Executive Presence: Winning trust of executives for short term sales wins and long-term partnerships.
* Analytical Muscle: Ability to identify the needs of the industry, anticipate how externalities will impact demand, and inform long term sales potential of sales solutions
* Ability to Execute with Excellence: Program management and communication skills that help organize teams, influence and deliver outcomes cross-functionally.
* Curious Mind: Break down complex problems, ask questions, learn quickly, adjust when necessary, and always find a great way to move forward.
Responsibilities:
* Customer Engagement: This role will be working directly with key clients across banking and wealth industries. The engagement brings strong industry understanding, structured problem solving, strategic clarity, executive presence (verbal and written) and create pathways forward that deliver growth.
* Executive Relationships: Win trust of executives for short term sales wins and long term partnerships. The team extends personal and professional relationships that open doors and build lasting connections with executives that bring continuity to accounts.
* Market Intelligence: This role will be analyzing internal and external data, analysts’ reports and more to create points of view on market trends, performance, risks and opportunities. This work informs how Salesforce will navigate headwinds, prioritize solutions in the market, and position capabilities with clients. It is also the fuel for thought leadership externally to build market credibility.
* Go To Market Strategy and Planning: Understand how the industry trends impact the performance of solutions in the market, competitive positioning, and ability to meet the needs of clients in banking and wealth. Anticipate implications to account strategy, client decisioning, business processes and how Salesforce is advancing clients needs.
* Industry Solution Enablement: Influence solutions creation to help educate and enable sales, pre-sales, and customer success teams so they can speak the customer’s language.
* Account Collaboration: Engage with key partners on targeted accounts and regional engagement strategies aligned with our overall strategies
* Voice of Salesforce to the Industry: Present and lead executive roundtable discussions and industry event presentations
Experience/Skills Required:
* Minimum 15 years combined Sales, Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, Operations and/or similar functions in Fortune 500 enterprise software vendor, credible professional services firm, or iconic and respected bank or wealth firm
* Deep Wealth/Finance/Banking expertise with a point of view of sub-verticals
* Experience with deploying or using Salesforce with a hardworking vision for
