Description

🌟 Coming October 2025 (Pending Funding): Clinical Social Work Supervisor – Community-Based Child Welfare

Washington, DC | Hybrid / Onsite

Every child deserves to grow up safe, supported, and surrounded by people who believe in their potential. But for many families in DC, challenges like poverty, trauma, and system involvement can make that vision harder to reach.

As the Clinical Social Work Supervisor, you will guide the social workers who stand on the front lines of that mission. You’ll nurture their growth as practitioners, ensure their practice remains trauma-informed and family-centered, and create a reflective space where they can bring their full humanity to the work.

One day, you may be coaching a young social worker through a difficult child safety case. The next, you’re analyzing caseload data to spot trends, or sitting at the table with CFSA, courts, and community partners to strengthen collaboration. Your leadership won’t just shape the careers of your staff — it will echo through every child and family they serve.

This is not only a supervisory role. It’s stewardship of trust, ethics, and hope in DC’s child welfare system.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide reflective, clinical supervision to LCSWs, LMSWs, and caseworkers.

  • Ensure services are trauma-informed, family-centered, and culturally responsive.

  • Monitor quality of care, track outcomes, and coach staff toward improved performance.

  • Lead professional development, onboarding, and performance reviews.

  • Collaborate with CFSA, courts, and community partners to align services.

  • Represent the program at multidisciplinary meetings and policy forums.

  • Ensure compliance with DC licensure, accreditation, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in DC (required).

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW).

  • 5+ years of clinical social work experience, with at least 2 years in supervisory or leadership roles.

  • Strong knowledge of child welfare systems and DC’s service landscape.

  • Expertise in reflective supervision, trauma-informed practice, and ethical leadership.

  • (Preferred) Bilingual skills and experience with CFSA-related models.

Why It Matters

Families navigating child welfare deserve more than compliance — they deserve care that empowers, heals, and protects. By mentoring frontline staff and safeguarding clinical integrity, you will ensure children and parents are not only served, but truly supported on their path forward.

📌 Expected Start Date: October 2025 (pending funding).
