About the role

Job OverviewThe Warehouse Manager would be accountable for all warehouse operations within our secondary warehouse for both first and second shifts. This role would be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient warehouse operations by driving daily receiving and transfer activity that includes picking, packing and pre-loading captive body product to our primary warehouse for stock and customer routes. Additionally, the role would collaborate with inventory management, internal departments and freight carriers to ensure overall accuracy that drives customer satisfaction. This role will require a balance of managing on the floor and administrative duties.Responsibilities and DutiesWarehouse Operations:
  • Accountable for the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Communicate daily priorities to the team to ensure clarity is provided on goals for the day.
  • Support the team as a back-up as needed on the floor.
  • Manage aluminum roof cut inventory.
  • Accountable for ensuring successful daily cross dock activity.
  • Continuous improvement efforts with identifying space efficiencies and material handling solutions.
Order Fulfillment:
  • Accountable for successful order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving functions, and audits to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Review and approve all paperwork prior to processing.
  • Frequently access the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to check inventory, missing product, posted items, trouble shooting, etc.
  • Consistently check and respond to emails and support tickets related to warehouse inventory and operations.
  • Process Improvement and Problem-Solving:
  • Investigate issues or barriers brought forth by management and provide a solution to the team.
  • Collaborate daily with inventory management to reconcile inventory issues.
  • Communicate with sales and buyers on product and shipment issues.
  • Identify areas of concern and implement improved workflows that reduce costs and enhance performance that drive customer service.
Prioritize Safety:
  • Accountable for creating a culture of safety within the team and holding others accountable to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for compliance with all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials handling and safety standards.
  • Safely operate various pieces of equipment, such as a standard forklift and specialized trucks.
  • Accountable for all warehouse supervisors and associates to be adequately trained on things such as Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training, Hazardous Materials training and proper loading techniques.
  • Coordinate with the safety team on any work-related injuries and/or safety needs for the team.

  • Participate in defining roles within the team to support the Value Creation Plan and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each role to review on a regular cadence and in annual reviews.
  • Strategize with leadership on career pathing & succession plan for each department role.
  • Understand team member’s career goals and support them in achieving those career paths
  • Participate in the development training programs for specific team roles and behavioral skills.
  • Encourage and foster a collaborative work environment within the team and other departments.
  • Lead teams to develop reliable processes and procedures that produce results.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5-7 years of preferred experience in distribution, logistics, and/or warehouse operations.
