Pratt & Whitney Military Engines is seeking a Director of Modular Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC). This leader will oversee the strategy, development, integration, and lifecycle execution of next‑generation modular digital engine control systems. This includes leading an Integrated Program Team (IPT) across F135, Military Development Programs, Engineering, and with key external stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Vice President of F135 Production and Engine Core Upgrade (ECU).

 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the strategy, development, integration, and lifecycle execution of Pratt & Whitney’s next‑generation Modular Full Authority Digital Engine Control (MODFADEC) architecture.
  • Define and govern a scalable, cyber‑secure modular control framework supporting multiple commercial and military propulsion programs.
  • Align cross‑functional engineering, software, systems, supply chain, and customer teams to ensure coordinated execution and architectural consistency across product lines.
  • Drive digital transformation through model‑based development, advanced digital engineering practices, and next‑generation control system processes.
  • Oversee supplier technical execution, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, certification, security, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Lead long‑term roadmap development, major technical and program milestones, and proactive risk and opportunity management.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, international customers, and industry partners to advance modular control capabilities.
  • Influence enterprise‑level strategy, technology investment decisions, and future propulsion competitiveness through disciplined technical and program leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in a related technical field and 14 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related technical field and 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in digital engine control systems, systems engineering, or embedded control system development.
  • Significant program management experience, including customer‑facing leadership and international collaboration.
