Job Title
Supply Chain Specialist - Freight and LogisticsThe Logistics Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods internally and externally, while optimizing costs and efficiency within the supply chain.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform critical activities in the sourcing process, including supplier identification & evaluation, developing & managing requests for quote/proposal, initial negotiations, and contract development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build the business case for various sourcing and logistics projects and communicate the benefits in a compelling manner.
- Manage the execution of sourcing and logistics projects, to include monitoring timelines, onboarding suppliers, and capacity & inventory planning (ramp up/down).
- Evaluate supply chain risks through proactive monitoring of commodity markets, geopolitical events, and regulatory developments, and prepare detailed reports and assessments to support risk mitigation strategies.
- Analyze various internal and external data sources to identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply chain optimization.
- Support the purchasing operations team in mitigating/negotiating price increases via market data and/or alternative sourcing.
- Support category management, by conducting supplier relationship management and performance monitoring activities for non-critical suppliers.
- Support regulatory, compliance, and customer related activities and requests in their area of expertise, to include conflict minerals, country of origin, supplier code of conduct, geopolitical risk assessments, supplier diversity reporting, purchase order flow down requirements, etc.
- Analyze shipping lanes and modes and identify areas for optimization.
- Provide cost forecasts using market insights and data analytics.
- Coordinate and manage complex shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with plant shipping departments to standardize processes and work with shipping partners to enhance data visibility.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, purchasing or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of sourcing or procurement experience
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong expertise in supply chain management, freight procurement and logistics operations.
- Strong data analytic skill set, to include data cleaning, transformation, validation, and visualization, as well as deep knowledge of Excel and ability to perform
