Job Description

What you’ll do

  • This position reports to the Head of Manufacturing Operations and will oversee all activities with respect to Production Labelling, Filling, Packing and material control areas within production. This includes the effective, efficient and safe running of all aspects of said Production areas within budget constraints, including achieving Key Performance Indicators through the management of costs, labour, training etc. Working in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team and fellow senior management, a key requirement of the position, is to ensure a collaborative culture exists between production and the other key departments including Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Development, Engineering and Facilities. 

     

  • Full responsibility for Production Labelling, Filling, Packing and Production staging area.
  • Co-ordinate the timely and efficient production and day to day running of department.
  • Establish, monitor and achieve targets and KPI’s relevant to the area/department.
  • Establish initiatives to drive improvements in product and process efficiencies
  • Manage stock control and ensure inventory records are accurate in terms of quantity and location.
  • Manage workforce planning, structure and adequately resource the function to meet business requirements
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the production team on manufacturing and industry best practices
  • Conformance to budget and control of operational costs
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the production management team and ensure that strong communication lines are maintained across the organisation
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives in production and process quality
  • Liase with purchasing/planning in the creation of monthly production schedule
  • Support the introduction of new product and/or processes as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Design, Electrical Engineering or Science discipline
  • Minimum of 6-7 years’ industry experience working in a manufacturing environment, IVD environment preferable
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating and delivering presentations
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
  • Strong organizational and leadership and strategic qualities and a proven ability to provide clear direction to all team members
  • Proven ability in optimising production processes
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects
