Lubrizol is currently seeking a driven and influential Operations Finance Manager to join our North America Operations Finance team, supporting our Lubrizol Additives business segment. In this role, you will provide direct oversight, development, and performance management for North American Plant Controllers. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing financial support for our LZA Operations colleagues, including providing insightful financial analysis of plant and business operating costs, capital investments, cash flow analysis, and other business critical information.
This role will be based out of our Global Headquarters in Wickliffe, OH, or our LZA corporate headquarters in Brecksville, OH. This position will require up to 25% travel and will follow a hybrid working model.
What you will do:
- Interact regularly with direct reports to provide insightful coaching and feedback to assist with the resolution of questions, concerns, and challenges
- Establish volume expense transfer function to increase business flexibility during dynamic business cycles
- Provide guidance to direct reports on development plans, performance, goal setting, and finance KPI’s
- Monitor actual financial performance against forecast, budget and prior year and prepare variance analysis to provide insights and drive improvements.
- Drive operational excellence and spending efficiency by identifying productivity improvements and cost reductions within our manufacturing sites
- Perform ad hoc analysis within Operations and with other support functions including Health & Safety, Process Technology and Product Development departments
- Financial gatekeeper of long-range strategic initiatives especially operational excellence targeting capacity optimization, demand planning improvements, and material productivity
- Perform, document, and support cash flow analysis on strategic projects including capital investments to measure the Internal Rate of Return, Net Present Value, and payback period
- Participate in closing processes as necessary, performing journal entries, review of plant spending, communication of results, and driving operational excellence to streamline closing processes
- Support the annual planning process as the finance partner for the LZA Operations teams by consolidating and reporting budgets, communicating the upcoming years key deliverables and prioritization of capital projects
- Ensure that adequate control procedures are in place to ensure a strong finance control environment exists across our plants in alignment with corporate policies
- Partner with the Operations Finance leadership team to provide key insights into the day-to-day operations of the organization, department succession planning, and operational excellence initiatives
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Technical skills and experience in GAAP accounting, financial modeling and financial analysis concepts
- Ability to concisely contextualize financial information, and provide analysis in a variety of ways (one on one meetings, written reports, formal presentations, etc)
- Motivated team player, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Capable of building relationships across variety of departments
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power Point
What will put you ahead:
- CPA and/or MBA or equivalent
- Previous plant, cost accounting, supply chain, procurement or operations finance experience
- Proficiency in SharePoint, BOBJ, Power BI, or advanced Excel functions
- Experience leading cross-functional project teams
