Position Overview:

The Workday Report Writer for Institutional Research and Assessment is a full-time temporary position for up to two years. It will support the College during migration to a new enterprise information system, Workday. Upon position completion, the successful candidate will be considered an internal candidate.

Responsibilities may include working with technical staff and internal clients to write, modify, and test reports in the Workday environment.

This is an excellent position for a technical professional interested in learning more about enterprise technologies in the higher education sector and the Workday technical environment. The successful candidate will have strong logical thinking skills, strong listening skills, attention to details, be well-organized, have a desire for learning new technologies, and have technical experience that will ensure a successful onboarding of new technical skills. A customer service orientation will also be important when working with end users who have varying levels of experience in the Workday technical environment.

Compensation:

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $75,800 and $78,400. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: 

Work collaboratively with IRA staff and enterprise team and implementation team as the College moves to Workday. This support will include:

  • Report writing in the Workday reporting environment

  • Documenting decisions and processes

  • Testing reports with end users

  • Complete knowledge transfer to end users

  • Assisting with implementation activities across campus as needed

  • Attend training as needed to acquire necessary skills

Additional Job Responsibilities: 

This position will regularly meet with IRA staff, enterprise applications staff, consultants (Alchemy), and end users.

Supervision Received and Exercised: 

This position will be primarily supervised by the Assistant VP of Institutional Research. The position does not include supervisory expectations.

Education/Experience/Skills: 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in discipline appropriate to position.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.

  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate and collaborate with co-workers in a close-knit, multi-disciplinary organization.

  • Ability to engage in the quality assurance process and business process improvement.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information, policies and or procedures in a manner easily understood by others.

  • Ability to see information in print and electronically. Screen time is extensive.

  • Ability to research, analyze, transition between tasks, and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to troubleshoot solutions with end users

Preferred: 

  • Experience with Workday reporting tools

  • Experience working in higher education

Must have the ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions, operations, safety procedures, and hazardous labels.
