Project Coordinator, Stable Homes Stable Schools Site-Based

 

SUMMARY 

Under general supervision, plans and executes projects related to the Stable Homes Stable Schools initiative. Creates project and communication plans, assembles and oversees project teams, and coordinates change management for Stable Homes Stable Schools. This is a city-funded position that will support a group of elementary school sites.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Coordinates planning and implementation of projects including scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Specific project responsibilities include leading the Stable Homes Stable Schools initiative at two school sites.

  • At these sites, duties include the following:

    • Completes referrals for rental assistance and housing stability.

    • This work will include home visits and meeting at community locations.

    • Collect required documentation needed to complete referrals.

    • Collaborates with the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority and the service provider around holistic support of families and students; including home visits.

    • Coordinates student support to improve academic outcomes, including but not limited to attendance interventions, social emotional support, parent engagement and access to enrichment activities.

    • Leads site-based Parent Advisory Committee.

    • Incorporates parent input into program improvements.

    • Collects data for evaluation.

    • Monitors and reports on progress toward academic goals of school stability, regular school attendance, positive school behavior, parent engagement and math and reading proficiency for all students enrolled in SHSS.

  • Creates and implements communication plans for projects to keep all stakeholders up-to-date on project progress.  

  • Creates follow up plans for evaluation of implemented projects.  

  • Collaborates with outside partners.  

  • Develops and delivers project-related training for school staff and supports additional professional development opportunities with external partners as needed.

  • Continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.  

  • Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.  

  • Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent’s goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.  

  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records and MPS information.
