Warehouse Specialist

This role is first shift and onsite at our Buda, Texas location.

What the Role Is

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager with the scheduling of Inbound and Outbound loads as well as other responsibilities in the warehouse.

Responsibilities will also include shipping, receiving, loading, packing, put-away, case-pick, auditing, cycle counts, general housekeeping, scanning orders and shipping/receiving functions.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

• Communicate effectively with other employees, customers and carriers in person, via email or phone to accomplish necessary objectives.
• Assist Warehouse Manager with keeping track of raw material and finished goods inventory within the facility.
• Create shipments in IFS (ERP)
• Print shipments to plan builds and loading
• Check shipments and other work completed by warehouse team members.
• Perform general warehouse tasks and learn terminology important to the process.
• Responsible for generating cycle counts and rectifying any discrepancies in those cycle count variances.
• Clear communication with the Warehouse Manager to inform of any concerns/issues
• Inspect packages to ensure quality.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure packaging meets quality standards.
• Clean and organize work area throughout and at end of each day using 5S techniques which include sweeping, mopping, cleaning, cataloging and maintaining the area.
• Transfer cases weighing up to 50 pounds to keep production moving.
• Operate a forklift and manual or electric pallet jacks to disperse components and finished goods throughout work area.
• Discard outdated or defective product.
• Utilize compactors to bail cardboard.
• Responsible for leading warehouse team in absence of Warehouse Manager and distributing daily tasks to team members.
• Perform additional requests provided by Supervisor to guarantee efficiency.

Who You Are… (Requirements & Qualifications)

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required
• Experience in inventory control processes and procedures
• Keen eye for package quality requirements.
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work
• Strong work ethic
• Work within the constructs of a team.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with team members and Supervisor
• Schedule flexibility along with some weekend availability.
• Ability to utilize computers and scanning equipment.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

• Previous forklift experience in a warehouse environment

Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is frequently required to stand; climb stairs; walk; bend; kneel; squat; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and have the ability to work 10-hour shifts.
