Facility & Testbed Engineering (F&TE) provides technical support to the nuclear and high hazard facilities using qualified cognizant system engineers to reliability and operability of their assigned systems that support the Stockpile Experimentation and Operations (SEO) directorate mission. F&TE manages the Nuclear Material Management (NMM) Program, which is responsible for nuclear material lifecycle management at the NNSS. The SEO Procedures and Records Group provides technical writing expertise for directives and procedures as well as records management for the nuclear and high hazard facilities and SEO processes. The F&TE Director is responsible for the execution of these objectives.
MSTS is seeking an F&TE Project Engineering Manager. The Project Engineering Manager will report to and assist the F&TE Director. The Project Engineering Manager will provide management and leadership to the multiple Facility Engineering teams supporting Infrastructure projects at SEO nuclear and high hazard facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Be able to act for the F&TE Director, assuming all roles and responsibilities involving projects performed at SEO Facilities.
- Supervise F&TE multiple Lead Engineers assigned to the various projects. Each lead engineer will be directing an engineering team.
- Mentors F&TE Engineers on the new systems created by those projects.
- Direct and monitors the qualifications of the F&TE Engineers assigned to the projects. Then intent is that those engineers will assume the role of CSE and DA when the new systems are turned over to the facility.
- Act as the Project Design Authority.
- Coordinates technical issues between the Design Project Engineer, Nuclear Assurance, and the Facility. Provides engineering and technical reports to the various Project Managers.

- Project Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis
- Project Design Drawings
- Project Fire Hazards Analysis
- Interface and Design Control Documents
- Develop and manage assigned budgets.
- Ensuring sufficient manning is available to support the various projects.
- Develop and manage assigned schedules
- Coordinates technical issues with the Commissioning Authority.
- Coordinates technical issues with the Readiness Manager.
- Coordinates Project priority list for the SEO Senior Director.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 17 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
- Previous experience managing teams.
