How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The GIO team within the Americas is responsible for ensuring the delivery of all GIO services to its customers across all the Americas (North America, Latin America, Airgas) and their respective entities, encompassing more than 25,000 employees.

Within this team the GIO Infrastructure Project Manager will manage all aspects of large scale/complex infrastructure projects and their transition to operations (run mode). These projects will involve any single or multiple infrastructure components, (eg. Network, Cloud/Data Center technologies, Computing, Security, End User Digital Workplace).

The Infrastructure Project Manager will manage the delivery of projects from project initiation through the transition to operations on time and within budget.  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, control and completion of assigned projects, the Infrastructure Project Manager will also participate in the continued development and implementation of the GIO Americas PMO process, tools and reports.

Demand Assessment:

  • Support the demand management decision process through the creation of project statements of work, work orders, charters and gate documents.

  • Conduct feasibility studies with Solution Architects within the different Services Lines.

  • Facilitate the assessment of the project impact in terms of cost, capacity, contingency, infrastructure and evaluate the level of risk, needed budgets and the resulting IT Value (ROI, IRR).

Work Planning:

  • Define the structure, scope, and direction of efforts around work plans, schedules, cost estimates, resourcing required to successfully deliver the project.

  • Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the project.

  • Design and lead project governance and reporting, in line with governance standards.

  • Support the development of project business cases and steward the proposed project through governance for sign-off to proceed.

  • Manage vendor selection and the negotiation process; approve vendor deliverables and payments.

 Project Monitoring and Delivery:

  • Direct project delivery through active leadership and involvement to ensure projects meet time, cost and quality requirements.

  • Maintain hands-on role to ensure deadlines are met and key deliverables are completed on-time.

  • Track and manage project progress in terms of scope, timeline and budget.

  • Identify and anticipate risks and issues - facilitate resolution, mitigation, and appropriate escalation to senior management - including the active maintenance of risk and issue logs 

  • Serve as the interface between project teams and customers to ensure collaboration and coordination between all stakeholders.

  • Lead project governance and reporting, in line with governance standards.

  • Monitor and communicate status and progress to stakeholders through status reports, updated project plans, financial reports and portfolio management tools. Communicate and incorporate feedback from customers.

  • Identify and manage scope changes through change request documentation and approval management

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for each project, ensuring appropriate storage

  • Manage suppliers supporting project delivery.

  • Provide direction and support to the project team.

  • Ensure that project delivery complies with regulations and company policies.

Project Management Office Support:
