About the role

Access Services is seeking 2 kind and hardworking Bachelor's or Master's level students seeking an internship to join our Crisis Prevention Services, for an in-office position in in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Crisis Prevention Services supports the Peer Support & Teen Talk Lines and Hope4Tomorrow. This internship will be completed over the course of 1-2 semesters, ranging from Summer 2025-Fall 2025, or Fall 2025-Spring 2025. 

The intern will get valuable experience engaging with community groups and schools. They will develop their project management skills and be a part of bridging the gap for those who need supports.

 

Work Schedule:

  • 9a-4pm (some flexibility here for shorter shifts, earlier/later, etc). Some Saturdays may be needed for community events.
  • 15-20 hours/week preferred

Requirements

We are able to take Bachelor's or Master's level students.

It is preferred, that the intern have personal lived experience with mental health challenges.  

Key Responsibilities of Intern:

    • Support community outreach relationship building on behalf of Crisis Prevention Services
    • Develop relationships with community groups and schools to educate them about crisis services
    • Assist with external communications and development of presentations
    • Communicate with supervisors effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner
    • Create and implement social media content
    • Gather community resources
    • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
    • Participate in community events
    • Ensure own proper conduct and fair representation of Access Services

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:  

  • Organized, dependable, creative, manage work independently, poised, professional, strong communication skills
  • It would be helpful for this to be a person with their own lived experience. In addition, some experience with this type of work would be helpful.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Ability to use technology platforms to complete work as directed. 
  • Ability to maintain a consistent schedule.

 

 

Required Clearances, to be completed before first day of internship, including:

  • FBI Clearance
  • DMV Driving History Report
  • PA Criminal Clearance
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • Physical

 

Required Transportation:

  • Reliable vehicle available to drive to community locations
  • Name of intern must be listed on auto insurance policy for vehicle used
  • Intern must be over 18, with two years of prior driving experience
  • Intern must pass background check related to Driving Motor Vehicle history

Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands:  

  • Work in a standard office environment.  
  • Utilize desktop computer equipment daily.
