Walker & Dunlop’s Affordable Housing Group is recognized as a leader in the industry. With multiple business lines including Debt, LIHTC Equity, Affordable Investment Sales, Preservation, Affordable Development and Capital Advisory services, this team of over 200 professionals has a wide array of expertise across the entire capital stack in affordable housing. We do that by providing services and capital for the development and preservation of all types of affordable housing across the United States. The Impact You Will Have
The Production Analyst supports the origination and execution of affordable and conventional multifamily financing transactions by assisting with loan sizing, financial analysis, and the preparation of financing narratives. This role works closely with Producers and internal teams to manage deal data, maintain accurate pipeline reporting, and support transactions from initial quote through closing. The Production Analyst ensures the accuracy, organization, and timeliness of information across internal systems and client-facing materials while managing multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Input and model multifamily property data and prepare Narrative Packages for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other capital sources
- Upload and manage quote packages within DUS Gateway and Freddie Mac OUS systems
- Track and organize all quotes presented to clients, including maintaining a comprehensive debt matrix
- Assist the production team in tracking deals throughout underwriting
- Prepare Transition Memos for all deals upon execution of a signed application
- Participate in kick-off meetings with producers, underwriters, and closers for loans under application
- Serve as a liaison between production, underwriting, and closing teams throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Maintain, manage, and update the team pipeline report
- Ensure deal information in Salesforce is accurate and reflects current deal status, including completing lost-deal reporting
- Mine client SREOs for potential refinance opportunities
- Support marketing efforts, including drafting press releases, creating deal tombstones, and coordinating with W&D Marketing on client events
- Interface with clients, mortgage brokers, lenders, and other transaction participants
- Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, sometimes in conjunction with travel
- Travel as required for industry events, client meetings, and property inspections or tours
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 1+ year of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of commercial real estate finance preferred
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Box, and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and make decisions using incomplete or imperfect information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to show ownership of your work, embrace challenges and growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
- Demonstrates courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness when teaming with colleagues and collaborating with stakeholders
This position has an estimated base salary of $70,000 - $80,000 plus discretionary production incentives. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
