Purpose

The Student Program Coordinator will participate in the planning, development, implementation and delivery of one of more programs designed to support undergraduate student populations and for the Chandra Family Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Student Programming. Oversee ECE Programming- Manage the ECE TALENT Student Retention & Success Program. Leads the development, coordination, and implementation for assigned student services programs. Examples of other such programs include Engineering Orientation, Gone to ECE, ECE Talent Program, Tutoring, Technical Cores, Free Electives, First-Year Interest Groups, Exchange Students, Graduation, Fuel For Finals, Data Bites.

  • Student Advising. Conducts routine developmental academic advising to include degree audit review, academic advising, crisis intervention advising, career counseling, resource referrals, course selection advising for new freshmen, advise prospective transfer students, present prospective information sessions, represent ECE at conferences as needed, assist with the coordination of graduate and commencement activities. Provides information, key referrals, and supports the implementation of advising initiatives.

  • Partners with the Senior Academic Advisor to lead development and coordination efforts for programs, activities, and events.

  • Manages programmatic communications, evaluations, and assessments. Collects, analyzes and produces reports related to program activity.

  • Develops and publishes informational materials and websites to ensure students are aware of programs and services. Moderates student facing online channel and performs community management tasks.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • At least three years of experience working with college students in an academic counseling capacity.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with and support various populations of undergraduate students and their families.

  • High energy, team player with strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with all levels of constituents; students, parents, faculty and other staff members. Demonstrated professional demeanor.

  • Able to work independently and in teams with overlapping projects.

  • Strong working knowledge/experience working with standard applications in Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Familiarity with video and web conferencing software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

  • Strong attention to detail

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field and two years of experience in counseling, group work, assessment and administration of student academic programs.

Salary Range 

$48,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Use of manual dexterity.

Work Shift

  • Standard work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

  • Flexible schedule and/or hybrid telework may be allowed.
